Baapu story revolves around the struggles of the farmer and his family comprising of his wife, son, daughter and his father and the interesting and surprising developments associated with it. Mallayya, a farmer toils hard along with his wife Saroja to take care of his aged father Rajayya, his son Yadigiri who drives an auto and his daughter Varalakshmi, a student. But due to unfavourable climate, he lands in huge debts and unable to sustain and pay the debts, he takes a shocking decision. Where this leads to and how Lachchavva, lecturer Ravi and others are connected form the interesting part.
