The story begins when a highly valuable diamond smuggled from abroad into Tamil Nadu ends up in the hands of a clever local man, Natty. Once he learns the diamond’s true worth, he decides to keep it for himself instead of handing it over as planned. However, his plan backfires when he gets caught by the police and spends several months in prison. After his release, Natty returns to retrieve the diamond he had hidden earlier — only to find that the place has now been converted into a temple.
